Winchfield Court is conveniently located about 10 minutes' drive from Winchfield station from where the scheduled train time with South West Trains to Waterloo is between 50 and 60 minutes.

 

Access to the M3 takes about 10 minutes. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are both about an hour and a half's drive away. The nearby village of Hartley Wintney has shops, banks, pubs and restaurants. The village of Odiham, with its rows of fine buildings on the main street, is about the same distance away. In the other direction lie Fleet and Farnham. The larger towns of Basingstoke, Reading and Guildford are all within easy reach.

 

Health

 

Medical and dental facilities are available in Fleet and Hartley Wintney. There are hospitals at Frimley Park and in Basingstoke.

 
Schools
 

There is a primary school in Dogmersfield. Calthorpe Park and Courtmoor secondary schools are in Fleet and Robert May’s in Odiham. There is a private boarding school, Lord Wandsworth College, in Long Sutton.

 

Recreation

 

There is a good selection of cinemas and theatres in Basingstoke, Reading, Guildford and Woking. The Winchfield Music Festival is held every two years. The nearest pub to Winchfield Court is The Barley Mow, a 5 to 10 minute walk away.

 

There is a second pub in Winchfield, the Winchfield Inn near the station. In the other direction there are The Queen's Head in Dogmersfield and the George and Lobster and The Black Horse in Crookham Village. There is a Four Seasons Hotel in Dogmersfield Park.

 

At the end of Pale Lane and opposite The Barley Mow there is access to the Basingstoke Canal. The canal is navigable among most of its length and the towpath is open to walkers and cyclists.

 
Churches
 

Winchfield has its own parish church of St Mary the Virgin, some features of which adorn these pages. The three Anglican churches in Winchfield, Dogmersfield and Hartley Wintney distribute a parish magazine, "Contact". Roman Catholic and other denominations have their own churches in the area.
